TRAVESTIES
- THE STORY
Set in Zurich, Switzerland during World War I, this fast-paced
farce muses on the chance meeting of several literary and historical
figures.
The
story is told from inside the mind of Henry Carr, a minor British
consular official who just happened to be in a production of The
Importance of Being Earnest staged by James Joyce - while, at the
same time, people such as Tristan Tzara and Lenin were in town.
Weaving
words and wit, Carr relates what happened in Zurich in 1917 and what
could have happened.
