Dost
our eyes deceive us, or would you like to join our crew? Whether
you'd like to act, direct or volunteer, we're happy you're
here. Join us for one production or for several seasons at a
time... we welcome contributions of any kind.
ACT
Actors Ensemble of Berkeley welcomes actors of all ages and backgrounds,
and just as our shows change each season—so does our need
for actors. Auditions are held a few months prior to a show and
usually consist of short, prepared monologues and/or cold readings
from the script.
If you have a résumé and head shot, please bring
it; if you don't, no problem—we'd still love to see you!
Next auditions:
Actors Ensemble of Berkeley is holding auditions for Joseph Fields and Jerome
Chodorov's Wonderful Town on Sunday, May 10 at 7 pm and Monday, May 11
at 7:30 pm. Margaret Gudmundsson will direct, with Patricia King as musical
director and Kris Bell as choreographer. This musical is being produced in
memory of Ralph Miller.
There are three
principals—two women and one man—ages 20-30, along with a chorus
of six men and six women of all ages.
Please bring an up-tempo song and a ballad with appropriate music in your key.
Be prepared to do either or both. Songs from the show are acceptable but not
preferred. An accompanist will be provided. Wear comfortable clothing and
shoes and be prepared to move. We will read scenes from the play and monologues
are not necessary. There won't be appointments — please arrive at
the theatre at 7 pm on May 10 or 7:30 pm on May 11.
Please bring a resume with head shot if you have one. No pay, non-AEA. The
callback date is to be determined. Wonderful Town will run Fridays and
Saturdays July 17 through August 15, with a Thursday performance on August 13.
For additional information, please call Margaret Gudmundsson at 510-233-8283.
